All of the 62-69 Corvairs used the same "bowl type"distributor manufactured on the H-35 line in Plant Ten of Delco Remy...the same distributor was used for AMC and a few other 6 cylinder engines, as it was a relatively inexpensive, but reliable design. All of the rotors, distributor caps, and circuit breaker points were of the same design...there were variations that used higher dielectric strength thermoset (Bakelite) material in the rotor and cap, and there were both aluminum and brass inserts available for the distributor cap. There were no differences in the "points" manufactured by Delco Remy, after the change in 1963 from a phenolic to a "Delrin" rubbing block.

Currently available aftermarket parts will fit and interchange, but do have a variety of materials and design variations...some points have a screw clamp mechanism for the black wire and condensor lead, while the original design used the "lever spring" to clamp the wire connector.

There are variations in the quality of those parts available today.
