Hey guys,
Also, isn't the shifter shaft different starting in 66? I think it had to  be 
made adjustable since the transmission was closer... (you know,  
longer...hence the different front mounting bracket the Colonel refers  to)...
You could possibly cobble something together if you didn't have the right  
stuff...
I could be wrong, since in my 18 years of 'vair ownership I've only  had 
three 4 speed 'vairs, and two of them were '63 Greenbriers...  one a '65 Corsa...

Don't  forget the trans cross member/ front mount is different between trans  
years. The later 66 and up is longer, I believe...
