Well, here comes the project I've been looking at for a couple of years but have been afraid to tackle. I have a 63 Monza vert that, thanks to some great people here in Michigan, runs just fine. And it has a new top. The interior is OK, not perfect but OK for a driver. The problem is the paint. The Ermine white exterior seems to be cracking and falling off here and there. I don't know if it is because the car was repainted...or just that the paint is really old. I have been touching up here and there, but it's time to take the bull by the horns and get busy.

My question is this. What is the best way to remove paint from an otherwise OK car. Should I sand it off, take it to a media blaster, or use the chemical stripper route. My facility is a two car garage, and I have the basic hand and power tool assortments.

I have been reading about those who have used chemical strippers....but would like to know more about them. The car has no bubbles, but some bondo work on the lower fender passenger side seems to be bulging and most likely needs to be replaced.

Thanks for your advice
