<VV> Frank Winchell Memorial Corvair Scholarship

Tim,

I hope you realize that my question was NOT about existing rules, but
rather about a possible change in them.

I still feel, personally, that giving away money to someone who either has
less need than (a nearly or equally qualified) someone else, or doesn't
need the money at all to further their education, is a waste of money.
Certainly I am adamantly against ANY scholarship program granting to a
full-ride student what amounts to "party" money, particularly when it is at
the expense of someone who would put it to good use, like financing their
education. Hence the criteria of "need" necessarily enters into the
equation. And particularly because CORSA is a non-profit organization, I
think philanthropy (and hence financial need) rightfully should be part of
the committee's decision making. That's why I feel the way I do.

I hope you will respect my right as a CORSA member to differ on this
subject from others in CORSA's membership, and my right to express those
opinions openly and without being persecuted for them.

-Mark
