I had Koch's restore the wheel for my '61 Rampside. They did beautiful job. It was about a year ago and it cost about $135. I was able to say shipping by dropping it off and picking it up at a local swap meet. Here is a link to their web site:

Hope this helps.

Eric

Subject: <VV> Steering Wheel re-paint advice

There is a business in Paulsbo, WA called:
Backwards Unlimited,
4143 Gunderson Rd. Paulsbo, WA 98370 (360) 697-1471, FAX (Same)
that specializes in Steering wheel restoration. They do a outstanding job, and have been in business approx 20 years. However, they dip the wheel in some kind of plastic, over and over again, to attain the original diameter of the wheel. They DO NOT paint the wheel. It is a permanent fix, when it's done. You might consider them.
