I would like to add some headrests to my 66 bucket seats that look original
or close to original. First I would like to see what 66 headrests look like
and how they mount to the frame of the seats. I can't find this information
on the internet.

Hi Bruce. You and I are on pretty much the same quest Re: headrests.
I have a '66 coupe and recently came up with these:

They were listed among interior pieces from a '66 being parted out. Details
seemed to check out so I went for them. I have shown them to several
knowledgable people but nobody has anything but vague knowledge of exactly how they
mount. Research for a picture has been a dead-end too. Here's what little
knowledge I have been able to gather:
They sure weren't a hot option. Only 1188 '66s left the factory with them.
They were a one-year design that mounts externally. '67/ '68 brackets enter
the seat.
They were available on either buckets or bench front seats.
Showroom sales brochure lists them as optionally available "Strato-Ease
headrests" (marking- speak is always good for a laugh), but
unfortunately no picture.

So there we are. If any VVer out there has or knows somebody with original
headrests on a '66; or can provide any mounting details , Bruce and I sure
would appreciate your input.
    Matt from L.I. ('66 Monza Coupe 110/PG)
