<VV> Aluminium Oil Pan Torque

John,

According to Clark's, the torque should be 8 - 10 ft-lbs for the pan. The drain plug should be torqued to 30 - 35 ft-lbs.

I find that a drop of thread sealer on the drain plug will stop it from weeping oil and keep the garage floor clean and dry.

Subject: <VV> Aluminium Oil Pan Torque

I am about to install a Clark's aluminium oil pan. Should I use the same
torque specifications (80-120 inch-pounds, if I remember correctly) in the
book? Or is something different recommended because the aluminum pan is much
more rigid?
