<VV> CORVAIR UNPOPULAR

I think the a good reason that many people do not find the Corvair interesting is really simple. I bought my first one when I was 18 (12 years ago). NO ONE would help work on it and the fact that if I went to Auto Zone to buy parts they were not there. At my current age group, if the car does not have the ability "go fast" and do it easily and cheaply no one wants the car. It's not a muscle car and there for little interest in it.
The point is, it is more difficult to work on if you are not familiar with it and why do it when you drop a big V-8 into something else with out spending to much? I just sold my '69 Chevy stepside that I had a lot less money in and went a lot faster then this car will for the money spent, plus was much simpler to work on (for me anyway). Right now my '66 corsa is in pieces all over my garage and I honestly have no clue how to put it back together. Again, not many in my age group want anything to do with it! So that's my opinion why the Corvair is losing popularity.
BTW...anyone have the number for Corsa so I could join? I read posts about it but how do I find the club you people are talking about...is it the web site that shows the back end of a corvair on the home page?
Thanks for everyones help. I will be needing it if I am ever to get this car back together!!
