<VV> Heat treatment for heads

There was a lot of talk about the heat treatment of the heads several years ago.  I'm glad you mentioned that Jon was doing this.  How was it done?  Were the seats and guides taken out of the head first, seat holes welded, then heat treated and machined, in that order?
