it takes a real expert to 
design an economical, functional and reliable item that can outlive it's 
design goal by a factor of eight.  

Not only that, one that: A). Has as few pieces as is practicable and still
(sort of) function (there are WHOLE departments in manufacturing whose
life's work is to bitch at engineers over the number of parts used in ANY
gizmo....particularly loose ones....these are the folks that have brought
you "J-Nuts" and ultrasonically welded plastic parts....the base line is
ONE, more than that is a concession!); and B). Can be accurately and
consistently assembled by a disinterested moron in as little time as is
possible.

This is how a forged, milled, front suspension assembly with components put
together with Grade 8 fasteners gets attached to the chassis with
self-drilling sheet-metal screws!
