My corvair conversion was done 30 plus years ago and the body was set on a 4 wheel drive jeep frame. From what I have found over the years with my vair was that it was cut in half with some 20 plus inches cut out at the door pillar, the two halfs then put back together. The doors where then created by using the two orginal doors by cut them up to form the new door, thay way the only time consuming work that I can see was in the doors and where the car was cut in half. The door glass was cut from cheap flat safety glass, i will replace by using the rear door windows they will need to be ground to fit but will ge real windows when done. The doors even where made to use original door panels so I can get a store bought interior without spending a lot of money on a custom interior. I will use mostly stock items to finish the interior with a spyder dash plate to place new gauges. I had built a 66 GTO that the engine seised I used the frame from it to be the platform for the wagon body no more 4X4, this way I get a nice coil over suspenion with again store bought parts to fit. Now if I only had a job and a few bucks to get started agian, I not getting any younger.
Vair away.
