<VV> Virginia Vair Fair, May 8-10

The Virginia Vair Fair is about one month away now, to be held May 8 - 10 in Fredericksburg, VA.  A brief summary of events & activities are as follows:

Friday, May 8
2 pm: Registration & Vendors open
6 pm: Free BBQ party for registered attendees
8 pm: Valve Cover Races

Saturday, May 9
8 am: Registration & Vendors open
10 am - 12 noon: People's Choice Concours
2 pm: Rally
6 pm: Banquet

Sunday, May 10
8 am: Registration & Vendors open
9 am: Corvair games
11 am: Final door prizes & awards

For those that want to do some sightseeing on their own while in the area, Fredericksburg and surrounding communities boast the following:

- Civil War battlefields & museums.
- Old Town Fredericksburg walking & trolley tours.
- Renown artist Gari Melchers gallery & restored 19th century home.
- Wineries.
- Rappahannock River Cruises.
- National US Marine Corp Museum (30 minutes away).
- George Washington's Mt Vernon home (less than 1 hour away).
- Washington, DC (about 1 hr away; public transportation to DC nearby).
