<VV> shining up the axle

last time i saw that kind of wear , there was a good size stone down close  
to the bearing that must have been the cause. it had a mark on it also. had 
it  happen on a 61 dust shield on the front backing plate also. stone 
(smaller one)  had tar on it also.made a noise that sounded very threatening.
