My attitude is a bit like it is with Fiat 130s and Dinos. I love them both
but have a marginal preference for one.

As I haven't got the scope (not so much money as space and wifely approval)
to own both, I have to have the one I have a marginal preference for (a
Late). The reasons I have a marginal preference for Lates are: a) better
handling (yes, I have driven both); and b) I slightly prefer the exterior
styling.

Against that, Earlies were an icon that lots of people copied, but none
successfully. They also (in my opinion) have slightly more 'character'
(whatever that means), and I also prefer their interiors. And they seem to
me to be considerably better built (I have seen some very badly-built
Lates).

Perhaps it is a case of First among Equals (that's a book by disgraced
ex-politician and former Mrs Thatcher golden boy Jeffrey Archer, in case you
don't get the ref).

Cheers

Alan
