<VV> 140 Crank question

I don't have "Bob's Book" (he doesn't sell it to my Vendor -- politics,
apparently -- so I don't buy it, proving I can be just as big a dope as
the next guy)

It may have pictures, it may not, I don't know, but I am told and have
seen evidence that this mark that is described as an "&" (ampersand) may
take a slightly different form than pictured in the character I just
typed, perhaps more like a lower case epsilon or an infinity mark. Or
maybe they are not all marked the same? I have (or maybe it is "had") a
broken 140 crank around here somewhere, but can't find either end of it
to look at that one.

Some 164 inch cranks do seem to have another mark, sort of a three
pointed washer like depression surrounding the pilot bushing hole, and I
would like to know what this means -- I've seen it in both automatic and
manual engines.

Thanks,

Bill Strickland
