<VV> Head gasket installation

Can someone please confirm for me which direction the head gaskets should be installed?  There is a smooth side and a raised side on the stainless steel gaskets that I purchased.  Logically it would seem that the smooth side should fit down into the head and the raised side would go against the jug.  Just want to make sure I get this right.
