Smog pump and air-conditioned cars had the ignition coil moved to the  rear 
brace. So 65 A/C cars had the coil there. Smog pumps were used on  
California cars from 1966-on, so the slot/hole could easily be on any 1966-67  car, 
even though Smog pumps were not national until 68. Interestingly, the 1966  
Air-Conditioned California cars were exempt from the smog pump. Think about  
working on a 1966 California Air-Conditioned 140 car with a smog pump. In 
1967,  the smog pump and the A/C could co-exist. In theory, at least.
