John, just because we all have old cars doesn't mean we don't keep up on
other fronts -- Cordless LED "drop" lights have been available for at
least a couple years, meaning probably longer than that -- most of the
ones currently available are now into their 'second design' phase, with
sleek housings and a 'focused' led array.
Still can't drive over them though ... (and expect them to still look
and work like new)
Grandkids have figured out that it is a great way to put electric lights
in the tree house -- I sure never looked for it there last time I
couldn't find it.
I don't think it will be too long before functional led headlights are
available, either.
I do like the cheap florescent screw-in bulbs in drop lights -- enough
that I've broken several -- but they need to 'warm up' a bit to be at
their best, vs the instant on incandescent and led.
