Probably not.  Changing the coil will often affect the results, but the real
cause may be elsewhere.  For example, if the insulation is breaking down on
the cap or wires, jacking up the voltage could make it work better but could
just as likely make things worse (through arcing).

I've had a bunch of vairs (but not many by yous' guys' standards) and only
had one bad coil.  But that one really was the problem and it conked out
when it got hot.

Sometimes you just gotta swap stuff until you find it.
