<VV> Springs and spring rates

After reading all the comments on rear springs, I have to add one more note to the discussion. 

Unless you can actually measure spring rate, you have NO IDEA what you really have. This goes for old tired used springs and those brand new ones you buy from any of the vendors. 

One time, three members of Bayshore each bought new springs for their Corvairs. We each had purchased Clark's heavy duty springs both front and rear for our cars. 

After installation, all three cars sat at different ride heights. We all used what we thought was the exact same thing, all the part number were correct for our late model applications, but all three cars sat at different ride heights. 

Not all springs are equal, some are more equal than others.
