Yes, that is because the bearings supply a dual function, they must swivel,
and must provide the roll function. And, if anyone has changed out a drive
wheel bearing on any of these new cars today, its a throw away sealed unit
in the $200-$300 price range at the shop, so I don't think $150 for a repro
from Clarks is bad. I intend on doing a every 5K mile look see and
repacking, so they should last the life of the car.
(And I won't get into the EM vs LM debate, both great cars)Mark Durham
