You really just divided one issue into two "problems".

Membership decline naturally results in a revenue decline unless the dues
are raised to compensate for the smaller number of members.

So, why is membership declining? The hard truth for many to accept is that
the Corvair IS a low-interest vehicle to the vast majority of car
collectors. That isn't going to change, no matter what PR we attempt.

--------------------------------
Well, that is a perceived truth ... It assumes facts not in evidence. It requires that approaching half of the earlier population of CORSA, those that HAVE left, have changed their minds about the car.

As far as compiling a list I have no interest in trying to pull together all
of the disparate personal grievances that don't reflect a broadly based
consensus. In fact, that's why I asked for a list.

------------------------------------
Well, I am pretty sure everyone else feels about the same. That could be the reason there is no list. And, is getting a consensus a necessary step towards solution?

Until someone comes up with a viable plan that will make the Corvair as
appealing as a '57 Chevy I don't see the club membership going up. That may
offend you because people outside our circle don't love the car like we do,
but that's the real world.

Offend me? Not hardly. Something to ponder though; there are many other car clubs, and clubs of other interests, that are doing well even though their popularity does not come close to that of the 57 Chevy. or even the Corvair. They also exist in the real world.

Rodney & Ken W:

CORSA is broken was the title of the original article by Jackson Weaver.
Follow this forum for any length of time and you will see each and every
contributor has their own idea of 'THE cause; of 'WHAT IS WRONG.' There
are even some that do not understand that there IS something wrong.

At this point all I can do is point out the symptoms; 1, CORSA membership
is declining and has been for years in a time in which other similar
interest clubs have been flourishing. 2, CORSA income is declining to the
point they will soon not be able to continue.

Rodney and Ken W, perhaps you could get together and compile that list.
And, perhaps you will even be able to make a positive determination as to
the cause[s]. I think the real trick will be getting the BoD / Management
to listen and act upon your recommendations. My best wishes are with you in
this endeavor.

Has anyone compiled a list of what members think is "broken" ?
It would go a long way on the path to "not so broken" or even "fixed and
working"

I agree, but I would put it differently and turn it around.

Would those who see it as broken please tell us just what is wrong? Just
saying it's broken makes it a projective test in which each person with an
issue paints his complaint.

So, step right up and lay it on the line. What's wrong?
