Four slices of bread $0.20. This tool $25.00. I would need to remove 125
pilot bushings before I broke even. Actually I don't use bread anymore, I
have a 5/8 coarse tap which works great. I got the tap with a bunch of
tools I bought at an estate sale, so I can't say what I paid for it. I
bought a coffee can of taps, drill bits, easyouts (a misnomer) , etc... for
something like $10.00.

check out the tool on www.SpringerTool.com <http://www.springertool.com/>.
ordered a medium sized one to remove the roller bearing bushing that had
been in the engine since 1986. came out in 5 minutes with no cleanup. when
you look at the order page it says the med will go down to .4?? which is
incorrect. when the screw is removed the pilot bushing hole has to be .555
for the tool to clear. stock bushing measues .590 so it shouldn't be a
problem. after inserting the tool you insert the screw and once it's against
the crank the bushing will start to come out. he's in the process of making
a new design but this will do the job. the small size won't work. it's a
very well made tool and i don't see how he can make, sell and mail for $25.
no more grease, bread or whatever(VBG)-mike mann
