<VV> Bill Scott, Owner SP passed

Bill Scott's obituary was in the Wash Post this am. He was the owner of Summit Point Motorsports Park, Summit Point, WV. He earned a PHD in geological science at Yale. His interests included a collection of Porsche tractors, antique tractors, racng, and he operated an apple orchard on his property adjacent to the main straight at SP. He was Formula Ford World Champion in '69, World Formual Vee Champion in '70. Bill was a true friend to racers, including vintage racers like past Champion Brian Redman. He was very well liked in the racing fraternity.

He was particularly good to individual racers and we saw him often riding thru the paddock on an old tractor. Aways had a kind word. He helped me out, allowing me to test my car without charge a number of years ago on the main straight.

He certainly will be missed.
