I don't know of the specifics, but I heard that a 50th birthday party for the Corvair and a car show is being planned for that same weekend in October. ?It will be held in Maggie Valley, NC.

Yes. NJACE, along with representatives of other chapters in the
region, is well along on plans for a 50th anniversary weekend event
for October 2-3-4, 2009.

Public announcements will be made just as soon as hotel details and
the like are confirmed.

I see from another reply that the Great Plains Corvair Roundup is
planned also for the weekend of October 2 & 3, in Wichita, Kansas,
also with emphasis on the 50th anniversary of the Introduction of the
Corvair. I would suggest that all that's needed is a similar West
Coast event to suitably commemorate the day. One East, one Central,
and one Western event, conducted simultaneously.

So...

No. I think CORSA should get behind three regional events.

>Do you think CORSA should post any ads in any major venues
>(Publishing or Other) celebrating the CORVAIR - if so examples - if not why?

I think CORSA should get behind promoting the three regional events.
