This is almost unbelievable. Today in the Sacramento area all museums had a
free day. My son Michael and I planned out a route hoping to see between
three and five museums.

First stop was the Aeronautical museum at the former McClellan AFB. Lots of
military static displays. No Corvair powered plane so no Corvair content.

Second stop the Towe Auto Museum. This was started as a Ford museum and is
mostly Fords. I took a picture of a Leyland micro car in the parking lot,
to send to lclc (almost Corvair content). Right around the first corner was
a Model T snow car just like the one Gary sent out the link for this
morning, except it had the front wheels still mounted. For some Corvair
content, a couple of isles over was Vance Piper's Green 65 Sport Sedan,
looking pretty! But wait it gets better...

Next stop was the Crocker Art Museum, a fine art museum. The line was out
the door and a block long, so we passed and went to the California Military
Museum in Old Sacramento. It's OK, nothing special.

Next stop was back to Woodland to the Hedrick Agricultural History Museum
(eat your heart out Lon), lots of tractors including a Fordson snow tractor,
setup exactly like the one in the video Dick sent out. Next to the Hedrick
Museum is the Hayes Truck Museum and in the Hayes Museum is a 61 Rampside.
Nothing special. It's a driver. It could be spiffed up and since I'm
unemployed, I may volunteer.

I have pictures of the Model T snow car, Vance's 65 Corvair, the Fordston
snow tractor and the 61 Rampside.

I actually have seen a Model T snow car before in Gunnison, CO on the way to
the ski area. I thought it was home made. I had never even heard of a snow
tractor until Dick sent out the link and then to see one a couple days later
as a really strange coincidence.
