I am so glad we finally got rid of all those horrible non-Corvair posts and

got back to the really important Corvair stuff <grin> . By the way, the  
photos and data for things like Brochures and shop manuals, etc. were often
based 
on pre-production examples and early mock-ups. Because something appears  in
a 
brochure or options catalog, doesn't mean it actually was built that way.  
There are many examples. The most obvious being the air-conditioning
equipped 
Corsa dash in the 1965 options brochure. Data from cars owned,  while
subject 
to 40+ years of possible owner "enhancement" (and memory failure)  is still 
probably more relevant than the original brochures.
