Join us for the Corvair 50th Birthday Celebration!

The Corvair was introduced for sale to the public in Chevrolet 
dealers all across America on Friday, October 2, 1959.  That's 50 
years ago, and we're going to celebrate!  The New Jersey Association 
of Corvair Enthusiasts, in cooperation with Northeast and 
Mid-Atlantic CORSA Chapters, is having a three-day birthday party for 
the Corvair.  You are invited to participate!

When:
Friday - Sunday, October 2 - 4, 2009.

Where:
Historic Cape May, New Jersey, America's First Seaside Resort.  Join 
Corvair enthusiasts from throughout the region for a beautiful and 
relaxing weekend in celebration of 50 years of America's most 
innovative car!  This will be a weekend for the whole family, as Cape 
May offers a distinctive resort experience, with great shopping, fine 
dining, unique activities, fascinating museums and historical sites, 
plus, of course, the beach and the oceanfront Promenade.

Host Hotel:
Our host hotel is the La Mer Beachfront Inn, quite simply the newest 
and the nicest hotel in all of Cape May. We have arranged for Corvair 
members to get special rates, but only if you book your room before

Event Registration:
$29 fee per family registration:   Includes welcome party munchies 
(cash bar at welcome party), Saturday Corvair Show (concours style, 
trunks and engine lids closed), Saturday night movie party with 
popcorn, Sunday Chinese auction after brunch, and Sunday driving tour 
through Cape May, ending at the Cape May Lighthouse.

Anticipated Schedule of Events:


Friday, October 2nd

*  Dinner at the Pier House or the restaurant of your choice

*  Poolside Welcome Party at the La Mer Beachfront Inn, with cash 
bar, games, music and entertainment. (if poor weather, party moves indoors!)


Saturday, October 3rd

*  All-Corvair Car Show (to be located either on the oceanfront 
Promenade or in a downtown park, depending on the status of planned 
construction). No classes, no judging, no awards

*  Downtown Oktoberfest street fair, shopping, museums, tours, lunch 
and more, as you choose

*  Dinner at your choice of the countless great restaurants in Cape May

*  Back at the hotel, a private screening of the Best Picture of 1960 
The Apartment, starring Jack Lemmon, Shirley MacLaine, and Fred MacMurray.


Sunday, October 4th

*  Breakfast at the Pier House

*  Corvair driving tour through historic Cape May and to the Cape May 
Lighthouse for tours and photo opportunities. The lighthouse was 
built in 1859, 100 years before the first Corvair!

*  Farewells and good-byes... unless you want to grab lunch first!
