<VV> Shifter shaft seal

Can the shifter shaft seal on a '65 4 speed be changed on the car??  I
just put my engine back in after 5 months, and the ($%(&# shifter seal
started leaking !!  (Couldn't leak while it was on the dolly . . 
grrrrrr)
