<VV> Corvair powered Karmann Ghia

When I was in high school (back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth) I had a
part-time job where a co-worker had a 1955 Karmann-Ghia into which he
had installed a Corvair engine. The generator cleared the hood fine,
but the oil filter did not. (On the yellow car that started this
discussion you will see that the oil filter has been relocated.)

My co-worker's solution was not to relocate the oil filter, but to cut
an oil-filter-sized notch in the engine lid. If you were behind the
car, there stood the oil filter, proudly in the breeze, just to the left
of the license plate.

This co-worker also built oval-track race cars with the same attention
to detail... The story of the on-track engine fire will have to wait
'til another day...
