<VV> New heads, an approach...

Which begs the question, how do you know this? How do you know it won't be easy? How do you know it won't be cheap?

A three up head eliminates so many issues, stock valve covers, stock shrouding bolts right up, a direct bolt on for those who don't want to reinvent everything, and GREATLY broadens the market, and makes it easier for the end user. Making it more challenging for the end user seriously narrows the market. Three up isn't a bad thing. Makes the whole setup easier and cheaper to build too. Think of all the stuff you DON'T have to make...

Again, going for bolt on, while maintaining the hot rod option. Integral

or whatever you want manifold!

Maybe so, but, although it's relatively easy to draw a 3-wide head and rig
some sort of connector between the individual head castings, I don't think
it's easy to build that way; better to have a strap connection bolted to
the valve boxes; building the intake manifold internally may have been the
cheap way for Chevrolet, but it was a stinking way engineeringwise--it
wouldn't be either easy or cheap for the aftermarket.
