Chuck,

You are right. There was no silicone on an older, daily-driven belt followed
by a belt with unknow provenence - all bad. I've now got "can of aerosol
silicon spray" on my "take to track" list. Also, Terry Stafford encouraged
me to buy a couple of good belts, break them in with a month of daily
driving each, and then set them aside for race day.
