Craig replies:
If you truly have a single wire alternator (rubber plug over regulator
terminals) All you need to do is to connect a 10 gauge wire from the
alternator output stud to the BAT terminal on your regulator.

If it's really a three wire alternator (exposed regulator terminals) it's
the same as above plus little terminal 2 goes to your idiot light and little
terminal 1 goes to your battery positive. 

It's in the tech guide and also in "The Classic Corvair" book by Bob Helt.

Note that a true "one-wire" alternator is not recommended for a Corvair
because it eliminates your "GEN-FAN" idiot light and it's impossible to know
when the fan belt is broken or off, until you smell or hear the overheated
engine.
