<VV> Fitch Built Fitch's

Alan: I don't know when John put together the 1st LM Fitch Sprint. I could
probably look in my collection of magazines for the first ad and subtract a
3 month lead time for an approximate date, but I'm not fixin' to do so.
John could have built a '65 Fitch any time after the '65 was introduced if
someone drove up to his shop with a '65 Corvair and a bag of money,
including yesterday if he was of the mind to do so. They were not
registered as Fitch Sprints - neither were Yenko Stinger for than matter -
unlike the Shelby Mustangs which got a new VIN plate and title.

Since John did not keep any records, no one knows how many he built at his
garage in Connecticut. There are a few LM Sprints with a paper trail back
to his garage, but most were kit cars built up at authorized Chevy dealers
or by individuals. Thus, since he sold what ever components someone
ordered, anybody could build a Fitch Sprint at any time. Even tomorrow.

There are a couple people whose names escape me who have put together a list
of parts John sold, and have a rating system of how much a car referred to
buy the owner as a Fitch is actually a Fitch. A car with everything,
thought built by whoever over whatever period of time is a 100% Fitch
Sprint. The percentages go down from everything.... Seems like I heard
their rating system is used at the Convention for Concurs classifications,
but don't know for certain that is true.

Drink your Lucas cooled beer now and go to bed Alan. VBG!!!

PS: Does anybody know what happened to the mold(s) for the LM Sprint roof.
I certain they went to Solar in Wisconsin when John sold the business, but
after Solar went belly-up....?

Surely only Fitch could do that. And in 65.
