I knew a Swiss gentleman whose
wife blew two EM turbo engines in their EM Spyder convertible by staying on
the boost continuously on the autobahn, but I have no other anecdotal or
real world experience on regular turbo operation.

Obviously from the last few posts.... ?certain people cannot comprehend simple questions...and sure look like they are not real car lovers...let alone Corvair s!! ?GGG
Cylinder head cooling is the weakest part of our turbos....followed by pinging!
In real world driving....NOT THE FREWAYS!! ? you can use the turbo all you want....as normal road / traffic conditions will limit boosted operation to under 1 minute, ?absolutely!
?When accending long grades, or trying to see how fast it will go on long straight stretches....the Gauge / Buzzer should warn you fairly soon...2-3 minutes??
MY OPINION........
Having finally bought a Corvair Turbo'd, car with factory location of the turbo.... I can tell, many pressurized owners never really do anything more than "cruise" ?their cars....
I recently watched a video of a guy's Turbo..that has been ?described as "really fast" ?by a few who have ridden in it.... ?my 140 PG ?is faster! ?gggg
