 Interesting.... One of my recent projects is helping restore a WWII artillery battery at the Delaware beaches. 

Rust rust everywhere!! I've been using muriatic acid followed by a pressure washer followed by baking soda solution to neutralize any residues. Knocks it off FAST! Of course, these parts are WAY thicker than auto body sheet metal...
