We also have one like that here, called the Carcoon.

A great idea - I have a friend who lives in a miserable, damp, soggy, wet 
hollow in the middle of Dartmoor (the setting for the Hound of the 
Baskervilles, if you follow Sherlock Holmes - we live in that area. There is

also Dartmoor Prison nearby).

Anyway, my friend has a miserable old corrugated iron shed with an asbestos 
sheet roof (am I making it sound nice enough for you?) (;-)), and it is 
incredibly leaky, has half of one side missing, and has about a third of the

roof sheets missing (he is a bit of a slob, but he also doesn't have a lot 
of money).

He is restoring a Fiat Dino (the car the Mafia drove in the original Italian

Job), and Fiat Dinos do not need a lot of persuading to go rusty. He has 
been bare-metalling his car for a year, and it is in the Carcoon. To date, 
he has had no surface rust form on it, so they must be good. My friend is 
such a fanatic that he actually works on the car inside the Carcoon. It does

get a bit dusty. He has had cancer twice, so he has a devil-may-care 
attitude towards health risks, and he isn't bothered about breathing in the 
dust (I would be, though!).

The other experience was less positive, although I think it was probably no 
fault of the Carcoon but was probably a user problem. A guy has booked a 
Lancia in with us after having it fixed by a SERIOUSLY expensive restorer 
(seriously expensive like $30000 for a body job).

He called me the other day to see if we could help, because he is furious 
that his car is beginning to rust again and they have told him to go hang 
and that they won't do any more for him.

I was a little surprised (no, I was a LOT surprised) because these people 
have a very good reputation!) so I went to do him an estimate and look at 
the damage.

As soon as I got there I could see the cause of the problem. The car is in a

Carcoon.

Outside.
