A number of respondents said, keep it and swap in a Powerglide.

Still another said that he needed more information, about rust and 
bondo and such.

Which proves that I provided too little information in the first place.

It is not mine, I did not have the knee surgery, and knock wood I can 
still drive my stick-shift Corvair.  The Rampside belongs to a fellow 
local club member.

I cannot provide more information (yet) because I will not see the 
truck until tomorrow.

But I wanted to get a least a small sense of the market.
