<VV> turbocharger

Nearly all turbos use plane bearings, like the stocker. Ball bearing turbos are still a novelty, but they are out there.

As far as bolt on, only the Rajay series and its derivatives bolt on, and even then, the lube plumbing needs to be altered and the compressor inlet and turbine discharge are different.

Now, there are other turbochargers that will function (most better than stock when sized right!) that can be made to fit with modifications... The Garrett T25 and T28 series come to mind, as they are small, spin up quickly, have an integral waste gate, etc. But most modern turbos don't have the necessary carbon seal, so, blow through is required, or retrofit (if available) the turbo with a carbon seal kit.

Question, is there a turbocharger that can be used to replace the original one,

as most have a much better bearing set up than the original bushed unit and

parts are really pricey. Jerry
