I also have an item I'm not sure what it's for just to the left of the steering column under the dash. It's seems to be an off/on switch for something, but does not affect anything that I can see. It's a red knob that looks like it should light up if the car overheated or something to that effect. Any idea? It's a '66 140 conv with A/C.

Sounds like it. On an non-turbo car, they were simply taped back, as the
buzzer was not installed. It would normally have been mounted above the
headlight dimmer switch.

If I know my Corvair wiring, (not a guarantee) that buzzer was for CHT on
turbos.

While re-installing the instrument cluster in my 65 Corsa convertible,
Ive come
cross two wires that seem to go nowhere. Or at least I cant figure out
where.
merging from the wire bundle which comes through the front fire wall on the
ide are two wires attached to a T shaped plastic connector. One off
the
onnectors slots is empty. One wire is green/white and the other is
black/red.
he wires are relatively short which limits where they might connect.
?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
ooking at Figures 40 (page 12-190 and Figure 42 (page 12-20) (Item 11) in
the
5 shop manual leads me to believe these wires go to a warning buzzer.
However,
cant find any such buzzer.
ny help?
