I could stand it no longer... I joined the blog and posted the following:

"I see many uninformed, parroted comments concerning alleged handling
difficulties of the Corvair; most comments are extrapolations from Ralph Nadar's
discredited book: “UnSafe at Any Speed.”

Mr. Nadar's accusations were disproven by a Department of Transportation
report (# B 211-015); the report stated: “…The Corvair handling and
stability compared favorably with the other contemporary vehicles used in the
NHTSA testing programs…” Then, DOT had an independent panel of engineers again
review the Corvair’s handling; the panel concluded: “…the Corvair
quantitatively meets or exceeds the standards set by contemporary cars in
stability tests, cornering tests, and rollover tests…” (DOT report # PB 211-014).
Both reports remain available from the National Technical Information
Service.

Because the truth was not nearly as “juicy” news as Mr. Nadar’s original,
unfounded & spectacular comments, the general public remains uninformed.
