<VV> Corvair dragster/ hydroplane

All thru the '60s there were several 145 cu. in. hydroplanes raced across the country. I am pleased that I got to see the fastest Bill Bunn's "Renegade" [one of my mentors]. The boat ran without a fan. Cooled by a "SPRINKLER SYSTEM" of Bill's design. This was a "PURE STOCK" class , but , we still managed to get almost 100hp out of the little 145. While a lot more engineering , and "Tweeking" was done than actually racing. When he "CAME OUT" he split heats with the national champion , and record holder whenever they met....

The dragster in the video is Terry Glasscock of Belton, MO. 
Unfortunately he is now running a Pinto engine dragster and is running even 
faster than he ever did with the Corvair.
