Perhaps too brief?

I'm involved with the policy committee of the Newfoundland Club of America
magazine. Typically the Executive Editor is in charge of all final
decisions relative to distribution of pages across new features and existing
columns, production issues, etc.

A Features Editor (FE), where one is in the mix, is primarily responsible
for the parts of the publication that involve submitted articles. The FE
may suggest a theme for an issue and solicit articles, may decide to provide
a variety of topics in a single issue, or may select from submitted articles
those that fit well together for a particular issue. It's an important part
of the publication since the overall impression of an issue is very much
influenced by what submitted articles are printed, and how they make for an
interesting and fresh experience for the reader.

Mike and Harry have done a great job over the years. But some small changes
to the look and feel of the magazine may help stimulate more interest in the
club. And I think that Terry will do a good job of bringing that new feel
to the Communique.
