 Part of the charm of the spyders then was that it was incredibly cheap and relatively inexpensive to take the 0-60 times
down from 10.5 secs to 8. The major expenditure then to get a spyder to run 14.80 in the 1/4 was apparently a stromberg
carburetor- the rest of the changes were mostly the result of careful tuning and removing excess weight-not bad for a 
"economy" car!
