<VV> red light

Dick, Very confusing. You say  "I replaced the alternator and had the generator 
re-built." This cant be. If stock the '64 came with a generator. Can we assume 
you meant the generator and voltage regulator??

I have to claim ignorance but the red generator light on the dash came on last 
month.  I replaced the alternator and had the generator re-built.  1964 spyder.  
Belt is tight.
All I do is drive it.  Don't know much except change plugs and oil.  Any idea's?
