John,
Reminds me that years ago when I was driving my 180 regularly to work and back, if I started up the car on a cold winter morning, the first few shifts I made had to be from 1st to 3rd since it wouldn't readily go into 2nd gear until it warmed up. So I switched the transaxle lube to Amsoil synthetic and the problem completely disappeared.

Mobile One Synthetic Gear Lub sure makes things work smoother, it is used in
the Corvette and Tahoe, maybe others.
I had a vehicle one time with a BW-T5 Five Speed transmission that when I
went out in the morning to start it up and the temperature was down in the
teens it felt like I was going to bend the gear shift trying to move it to
neutral.
I replaced the fluid with the Mobile One Gear Lub and it shifted like it was
already warmed up ! Great Stuff !
