Hi Les,

Be aware that there are two distinct upgrades to the Corvair alternator.  The first is basically a swap to higher output guts in what otherwise looks like a stock Corvair alternator, in fact you could have an electric shop put the hi-po parts in your original case.  This is the 63 amp swap.  If you have only a few extras on you car that require electric power, this should be more than sufficient.

Swap number two is a later internally regulated alternator.  This one doesn't look stock, the rear housing is completely different.  The rear brace doesn't fit on this as is, folks have either modified them or left the rear brace off entirely.
