James, I have towed Corvairs and other cars on a tow dolly and flat towed.
Like someone else said you need to remove the front bumper to use a tow bar.
On a car build brackets to bolt on where the bumper bolted on.
I have always put the rear end up on the tow dolly and tied the steering
wheel securely, I have towed cars and Forward Control vans and rampsides
this way without any problems as long as I keep the speed below 45. Having
the rear end up on the tow dolly keeps the drivetrain from turning, the
front end can free wheel.
There is a device called a Brake Buddy that sets in the driver`s seat and
applies the towed car`s brakes when flat towing ( four wheels down ) most
people towing cars behind a motorhome use a device like this and some states
it`s the law.

The main problem with towing is being able to stop, especially in the rain,
getting the load moving is a lot eaiser than getting it stopped!

Be Careful John
