I don't know if it is worth the effort on a PG car, but I seem to remember 
someone posting about having done that - or maybe it was in the Communique -

not sure.  I'm only talking about modifying (cutting a hole in the dash) 
here.

Anyway - you would also need to run some wires to the rear - one for the 
tach - attaches at the coil and one for the head temp for which you will 
also need a thermistor (the sending unit).  You also need a vacuum line to 
make the "boost" gauge work - but it will never show anything above ZERO on 
the assumption that you do not have a turbo.

There might be some other stuff I forgot - it has been a while since I did 
this and was on stick shift.
