get the 20 ton press , and i think it would be a good idea to weld the  
corner joints , but the newer models are better than the 30+ tear old 12 ton  
unit i have been using too hard. i do a lot of hard work with it , and did 
have  to make it more stable by welding the upper corners. i have done  
differential work , axles , turbo's and a lot of other jobs with it. you  will 
need to make or find various adapters to use with it. if you think you are  
going to do pins with it , practice on a junk one first to make sure you have a 
 good support fixture that wont break the piston. i  have a corvair shop do 
 it now ,just  to be sure. it is  worth it. a press is handy , but make  
sure you know how to use it! it can be very dangerous at higher pressures , 
and  break things. i have seen injuries at shops from not knowing how to add 
safety  to the job.
